In Taiwan, there is a tradition that many people regard as the important steps to become a true Taiwanese.
That tradition has three different tasks; Climb the highest Mountain in Taiwan: the Jade Mountain (玉山), travel to all or most of the smaller islands outside of Taiwan, and finally travel around the Island of Taiwan.
For me, so far I only did the third one, which I rode my bicycle all around Taiwan. The journey in total is around 1,400 km long, and took me 11 days to complete.
It was one of the most amazing experiences that I’ve ever had. In these short 11 days, I experienced sceneries from busy city streets to harsh mountain roads and wide rice field trails.
